Title: Parent/Guardian Information
Dear Parents, Guardians and other family members-
Welcome to the LBHS Chorus! You are just as vital to the success of this program as your student. Please read the following Parent F.A.Q.’s and feel free to get involved!
How can I best support my student as a member of the LBHS Chorus?
Come to the concerts! The concerts are the product of nine weeks of hard work by your student and they want you to be there, whether they will admit it or not!
How can I best support the LBHS Chorus as a whole?
Please consider becoming a member of the Lake Brantley Chorus Boosters (LBCB). This parent-led organization is vital to the continued success of the chorus program. Booster membership information can be found on the Booster information page. Every penny earned by the Booster organization goes back to the students in the form of uniforms, transportation, music and other costs associated with a thriving choral program.
Also, please consider registering with our Volunteer Coordinator, Ms. Mary Nardi (mary@nardiandnardi.com). We are always in desperate need of chaperones, uniform tailors and all kinds of other assistance. If you wish to volunteer for the chorus, please register as a Dividend with the Seminole County Public Schools (www.scps.k12.fl.us).
How do I become a Candlelight chaperone?
Only Lake Brantley Chorus boosters may chaperone our annual trips to Candlelight. When the Candlelight performance dates are released, please let Mrs. Nardi know your availability. Priority is given to those who have volunteered with the chorus, are booster members or are senior parents. All final decisions are made by Mr. Kilpatrick.
What do I need to purchase for my student?
Please see the parent checklist for information on all forms and purchases necessary for your student.
How can I get in touch with you?
Office phone: 407-746-3461
e-mail: carlton_kilpatrick@scps.k12.fl.us
Please let me know when you realize a date conflict or other concern has arisen. I will strive to make it work for your student and am usually willing to compromise.
What do you consider an excused absence from a concert?
Any absence that would be excused by the attendance office- personal illness, etc. will be an excused absence from a required choral performance. Only students with excused absences may submit make-up work for a missed performance (see grading policies). Students with unexcused absences will receive a grade of zero.
